Japanese food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world and for good reason. In 2017, the WHO placed Japan as one of the  healthiest nations in the world. Japanese superfoods are packed with nutrients and are the real key to Japanese longevity.

Japanese food (Washoku) is a living part of the culture. Washoku isn’t just food, but also the attitudes and traditions surrounding it. It was inscribed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013 This class is all about celebrating Japanese everyday cooking.

You will learn how to prepare the very best home-cooked comfort food. Move over, sushi. It’s time for gyoza, miso soup, and tonkatsu or teriyaki. These icons of Japanese comfort food cooking are the hearty, flavor-packed, craveable dishes you’ll find in every kitchen and street corner hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Japan. You will also learn about the secret of Japanese cuisine (umami) and the essential ingredients in Japanese cooking.

Menu:
- Gyoza
- Miso shiru (Miso soup)
