As the nights begin to turn cold and the sweaters come on, what better way to treat yourself than enjoying a hot bowl of ramen? It's one of the greatest comfort foods.
Led by Ayu, founder of Sendok Garpu who has been immersed in Japanese food culture after many years working at one of the most famous Ramen restaurants in Zurich,
you will learn the art of making delicious Japanese Ramen in this hands-on and fun class, so you can make your favourite dish at home.
Learn how to prepare dashi, how to cook your ramen noodles to perfection, and how to serve up your ramen with delicious toppings. You will be able to customise your ramen with the toppings of your choice and then enjoy your own ramen noodle soup in the company of your fellow foodies.

- What is Umami and how to create it
- Basic Dashi
- Miso Ramen
- Shoyu Ramen
- Toppings & condiments for Ramen: chashu, soft-boiled eggs, wakame, menma, corn, etc.

Japanese food (Washoku) is a living part of the culture. Washoku isn’t just food, but also the attitudes and traditions
surrounding it. It was inscribed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013 This class is all about celebrating
Japanese everyday cooking.
You will learn how to prepare the very best home-cooked comfort food. Move over, sushi. It’s time for gyoza, miso soup, and tonkatsu or teriyaki. These icons of Japanese comfort food cooking are the hearty, flavor-packed, craveable dishes you’ll find in every kitchen and street corner hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Japan. You will also learn about the secret of Japanese cuisine (umami) and the essential ingredients in Japanese cooking.

As the world's largest archipelago with more than 17,000 islands and more than 300 distinct ethnic groups, Indonesia has been blessed with rich culinary diversity. Stretched along the equator line and surrounded by the volcanic mountains that contributes to the fertility of the soil, Indonesia is indeed blessed with its wide variety of beautiful Indonesia spices spread through the region. Spices are the key to these various delicious, exotic, and tasty cuisines that would enhance our eating experience to a whole new level.
At “The Spice Journey”, I, Ayu (your Indonesian cooking instructor) will introduce you to exotic spices from my home country
and you will learn the art of combining spices and flavours to create a wonderful authentic taste. We will cook together:

Thai cuisine is famous all over the world and renowned for its wonderfully complex flavours, blending sour, sweet, salty, bitter and spicy tastes to create a wealth of harmonious and mouth-watering dishes. Our cooking class gives the opportunity to the participants to explore all the colors, textures, and flavours of Thai cooking.
Thai cooking is based on a foundation of simplest ingredients including fresh vegetables, rice, noodles, choices of meat, and
aromatic thai herbs and spices that we have all come to love. Ayu, our Asian cuisine expert will introduce you on all the ingredients, show you how to prepare your favourite thai food dishes from scratch, and inform you where you can get all the ingredients.
These key points combined with the Thai food recipes that you cook in our class, will enable you to cook authentic Thai food from the comfort of your own home.
